KOPIKO GRAND PRIX OF INDONESIA RACE FORMAT MODIFIED AFTER WEATHER DELAYS
Saturday, February 25: UIM and H2O Racing officials have modified the timetable for what promises to be a hectic super Sunday’s racing action at the Kopiko Grand Prix of Indonesia on Lake Toba.
Following the strong winds that forced the postponement of BRM Qualifying on Saturday afternoon, qualifying was rescheduled for Sunday morning and has been reduced to one crucial 45-minute session to determine Pole Position Trophy points and the starting order for the race. There will be no warm-up session in the schedule.
The 2023 Kopiko Grand Prix of Indonesia will then fire into life at the earlier time of noon (06.00 CET) on Sunday after race officials were warned of a similar weather forecast for tomorrow afternoon.
There will now be two shorter races, the first starting at noon and the second starting, as per the original schedule, at 15.00hrs in the presence of Joko Widodo, the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
Full championship points will be awarded for each race and the starting order for Kopiko Grand Prix of Indonesia race two will be determined by the finishing order from Kopiko Grand Prix of Indonesia race one.
