YOUNG SAUDI ABDULLAH AL-DOSSARI AIMS FOR PODIUM FINISH
AT FIFTH ROUND OF IAME KARTING SERIES IN ABU DHABI
YAS MARINA (ABU DHABI): Young Saudi Arabian karting star Abdullah Al-Dossari gets his second taste of the IAME Series X30 Challenge UAE at the fifth round of the championship at Abu Dhabi’s world renowned Yas Marina circuit on Friday (March 23).
The 13-year-old son of Issa Al-Dossari took part in the Junior category (12-15 years old) and raced under his father’s ED Racing Team banner for the first time at Al-Forsan last month and then impressed at the start of the month in Bahrain at a national karting race.
While his father is competing at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge – which is based at the circuit over the same weekend and then heads into the Liwa desert on Sunday -Abdullah will be targeting the top three in the Junior karting category.
Abdullah Al-Dossari said: “I will begin preparations tomorrow (Wednesday) at the practice session. I now have a new chassis, one of the best karting chassis you can have. The target at Yas Marina is the podium.”
More than 40 drivers took part in the last round of the series at Al-Forsan in Abu Dhabi, including 13 in the Junior category.
Lachlan Robinson has been an ever-present on the four rounds that have run so far and leads the Junior Championship by 52 points from Jamie Day. Constantin Reisch is a distant third.
