MOTO 1 WINS FOR CSONGOR JÁSZAI AND JULIUSZ ROMAN IN HUNGARY
Friday, June 23: Csongor Jászai and Juliusz Roman claimed Moto 1 victories in Ski Division GP3 and Runabout GP4 at the Grand Prix of Hungary in Nyíregyháza-Levelek on Friday afternoon.
Tomasz Kete started Moto 1 in Ski Division GP3 from pole position on his Yamaha but was passed by Csongor Jászai on the first lap and Jászai forged into a 3.58-second lead through the opener with Csaba Süli running in third. The Hungarian trio continued to dominate the 10-lap Moto and Jászai reached the chequered flag 2.64 seconds clear of Kete with Süli in a distant third. The Portuguese duo of Martim Marques and Manuel Leite rounded off an all-Yamaha top five.
Ibiza-based Alex Prats Palau began Runabout GP4’s opening Moto from pole on his Seadoo but the Spaniard slipped behind Poland’s Juliusz Roman and Czech Petr Dryjak on the opening lap. Roman continued to pull away from the duo, as Estonian Marek Laanisto settled into fourth.
After Laanisto dropped back to finish in an eventual seventh of the 11 starters behind Pole Igor Tycel, Hungarian Stefan Salath managed to grab fourth and the leading quartet then held station to the chequered flag with Roman winning the 10-lap Moto from Dryjak by an impressive 18.58 seconds. Karl Keskula finished fifth for Estonia but Montenegrin Volia Dzikovich retired after five laps.
