SAUDI DRIVER ABDULLAH AL-KHURAIJI JOINS FORCES WITH AL-SUNBULA GROUP
RIYADH (SAUDI ARABIA): Talented young Saudi Arabian racer Abdullah Al-Khuraiji has reached a sponsorship agreement with the Al-Sunbula Group to support his challenge for honours at this weekend’s karting finale at the 2022 Saudi Games.
The Saudi Games is the largest sporting event of its kind to be staged in the Kingdom and is running between October 27th and November 7th out of the capital Riyadh. The final karting race will be held on Saturday (November 5th) at the Fun Extreme Circuit in Riyadh.
Abdullah’s motor sporting career began, like many before him, by competing in the karting discipline. He achieved a number of victories before progressing to Formula Gulf 2000 and winning the Formula BMW title in the Saudi Arabian Championship.
He has continued to compete in various karting categories but is planning an ambitious progression into GT racing in the near future. Going forward, the youngster hopes to also take part in Saudi IAME kart races, the Middle East Karting Championships that will be held in Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman and the IAME Middle East Championships in the UAE.
He has been undergoing intensive daily physical training sessions at ‘The Track’ circuit in Jeddah using a Tony Kart like the one he will use in Saturday’s race. Being a keen swimmer, he realises the importance of physical fitness and mental preparation to achieve his best in motor sport.
More than 6000 athletes and 2000 technical and administrative staff from more than 200 clubs across the Kingdom are involved in the 2022 Saudi Games. They are competing in 45 team and individual sports, in addition to five competitions dedicated to Paralympic sports.
The motor sport tournament is being held in cooperation between the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee and the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF). The qualifying competitions began on August 26th with the fastest 15 drivers making it to the final competitions at the 2022 Saudi Games.
Al-Sunbula Group is one of the leading food manufacturing companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arabian Gulf and the Middle East and is delighted to forge a partnership with Al-Khuraiji. The company was established in 1980 and offers a wide range of products through its brands, Sunbulah, Sari, Alshifa and Walima.
