Ludovic Caumont had been quickest in Friday’s practice session and he qualified second, with Kuwait’s Abdulwahab Suhail Issa in third. Qatar’s Waleed Mahmoud Al-Sharshani qualified in fourth.

Caumont went on to win the 12-lap race in a time of 19min 42.83sec to comfortably defeat Al-Owaiss and third-placed Kuwaiti Fahad Nageeb Al-Musallem. Al-Sharshani finished fourth.

Qatar’s Khamis Sbeit Al-Hosni qualified on pole for the Runabout Super Stock race, with fellow countrymen Mohamed Abdullah Al-Heidus and Rashid Ebrahim Al-Manni in second and third places along the 11 riders. Al-Heidus managed to win the 14-lap race by a little over 11 seconds from runner-up Khamis Sbeit Al-Hosni and fellow Qatari Abdulla Ghulam Ali.

Saudi Arabia’s Hesham Sami Baksh qualified fastest of the eight riders in the Runabout Stock beginners’ class from the UAE’s Hamad Yousef Allanjawi and Qatar’s Mohamed Jassim Al-Obaidi.

The Saudi set a time of 1m 17.82s to seal pole position for his race and led from the start to seal victory in the 11-lap race by the margin of nearly 25 seconds. Kuwait’s Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Omar was second and team-mate Abdulrahman Ghazi Al-Omar was third.
The Qatari set the pace in qualifying for the Runabout Stock category and headed seven other riders, who included the second Qatari qualifier Rashid Ebrahim Al-Mannai and third-placed local rider Mohamed Abdullah Al-Heidus.
