NEWPORT POOL LEAGUE GETS UNDERWAY ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT
NEWPORT (Shropshire): The 2010/2011 Newport and District Pool League gets underway on Wednesday night (November 10th).
Sixteen teams will start a marathon season, which finishes in July and also includes the Neil Clark Memorial Trophy or League Cup. Defending champions, NRBL, face an away match against the Shakespeare ladies’ team to kick-start their title challenge under the new captaincy of Mick Beech.
The Plough at Woodseaves are the league newcomers and face a local derby away clash against the Junction B at Norbury. Other new teams include dark horses Shakespeare C and Wheatsheaf B. The new Chetwynd Aston side include a couple of young former Audco rookies and will be out to upset LSC’s match day one ambitions.
