ZAIN REEM CIRCUIT SET TO HOST ZAIN LOTUS CUP AND
SAUDI RADICAL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL ROUNDS ON THURSDAY

Doumit and Al-Sharif set for Zain Lotus Cup showdown
RIYADH (Saudi Arabia), Monday, April 5: Saudi Arabia’s Zain Reem international circuit will host the Saudi Racing Festival’s final rounds on Thursday, with competitors in the Zain Reem Lotus Cup and the Saudi Radical Championship determined to end the season of racing on a winning note.
The final round of the Zain Lotus Cup promises to be a fascinating showdown between Lebanon’s Doumit Bou Doumit and a host of Saudi Arabian drivers. Doumit and Medhat Sakhelared won a race apiece at the last Saudi Racing Festival two weeks ago, but Faher Al-Sharif has been the most consistent of the drivers this season at the Zain Reem circuit and took two wins from his first three starts.
This trio are likely to be the pacesetters on Thursday afternoon, but Abdullah Al-Dossari ran Doumit close on round three and Majed Al-Ghamdi is overdue a top result in his Bison Reem Team car.
The race will also feature the Saudi Oger Cup for young drivers. Mosaed Al-Khwayter, Prince Mohamed Bin Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohamed and Theab Al-Qatani are likely to feature at the top of the race classification in this category.
Saudi’s Saeed Al-Mouri has been the fastest driver this season in the 1.5-litre category of the Saudi Radical Championship and has already clinched the title. He took three successive victories earlier in the season, but lost out to Sakhelared at the last race meeting, even though third position was sufficient for him to clinch the title.
Faisal bin Laden and Raed Abuznada of the Bison Reem team have also been competitive during the course of the season and Faisal Shaker is likely to be the pace-setter in the 1.3-litre Radical class, although the likes of Bander Ali Reza will push him all the way to the finish.
“We have been delighted to see several weeks of competitive motor racing at the Zain Reem international circuit this season,” enthused HRH Prince Sultan bin Bandar Al-Faisal, CEO of the Zain Reem international circuit. “Saeed Al-Mouri has already claimed the Saudi Radical Championship and we have witnessed some superb racing in the Zain Lotus Cup this season. I am sure that the final rounds will be a terrific spectacle for spectators on Thursday.”
The Saudi Speed Festival race meetings have received valuable sponsorship from Zain, Saudi Oger, Toyota, Castrol, Bison energy drink, the Saudi Bin Laden Group of Companies, Al-Ghassan Motors and Saudi Radical.
