The event ran as a round of the FIA International Cup for Cross-Country Bajas in 2008 and 2010 and was a candidate event in 2007 and 2020..

*The event ran as a club rally for the first time.

**Because of Covid-19 and radical changes to the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Bajas calendar, the SAMF ran two Bajas in December 2020 as rounds four and five of the series.

The 2022 event (Saudi Baja 2022-Hail) was the seventh round of the FIA World Cup and FIM Bajas World Cup and round three of the FIA Middle East Cup and Saudi Toyota Rally Championship.
